If you are interested in individual therapy, please contact me via phone or email to get started. We will briefly discuss what you are looking for help with, as well as scheduling availability, my fees and insurance options. This is a great time for you to ask questions about my skill areas, treatment modalities, or just about what is involved in therapy. If I feel that my background would not be a good fit for you, I will always do my best to refer you to another provider. And if you feel like I am not the right person for you, that is not a problem. Your therapist should feel validating, safe, and competent in your areas of need, and sometimes you need to try out a few clinicians to find the right fit.
If you’d like to move forward, we will schedule an assessment session, which is typically 90 minutes. This is a time for you to talk more in-depth about what brings you to therapy, and for me to gather a history and a broader understanding of you. From there, I will help you identify goals for treatment, as well as a general plan on how to reach those goals. As we work together, we will continue to check in on those goals and the progress we are making.
There is no specific time frame for completing treatment- that is highly individualized based on each client’s needs. In general, the more you participate and implement strategies from therapy into your day to day life, the more successful therapy will be.
